DNS issues on the b-lab CF bots; were they resolved?

Hi all,

Apparently we were having some issues on some of the b-lab CF bots a couple months ago that was causing them to ddos the lab, and we worked around it in bug 727945 by installing dnsmasq to rate-limit the failures.

Anyone know if we figured out what was actually going on and whether the rate limiting is still needed?

Clarification.  We tried rate limiting client requests on the dns server and that did not work.  So we installed dnsmasq to enable local dns caching.
