Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome 61.0.3163.101 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) Platform 9765.70.0 (Official Build) beta-channel tricky Steps To Reproduce: (1) Connect Chromebox using DisplayPort to DisplayPort audio capable monitor via KVM switch. (2) Lock screen. (3) Switch KVM to other computer, then back to Chromebox. (4) Start typing my password. Expected Result: I can start typing immediately to log in. Circles appear in the password field, showing that what I type has been entered. Actual Result: A volume control popup is shown in the bottom right corner, consuming the first half of my password How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to reproduce?) Every time. What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is it? Wait ~2-3 seconds before typing password.

Sigh, this was filed ten months ago. :-( Is it still an issue? I haven't heard any other reports about this or experienced it myself.

I still experience inability to type my password for a few seconds on a regular basis. But my guess at the reason is just a guess.

#9: I'm wondering if this is actually related to the volume slider or instead e.g. a delay introduced by the KVM switch, or keystrokes getting dropped while the system resumes from suspend. Can you include more information about the KVM switch that you're using? Do you see the same problem when the keyboard is connected directly to the Chromebox and you connect the display directly (when you've already been using the Chromebox, so you know it isn't suspended)? |
