ChromeOS issue: Logging in with previously existing account does not restore shelf icons |
|||||||||
Issue descriptionChromeOS version: 59.0.3071.91 ChromeOS device model: Chell Case#: Description: I had to reset the laptop recently and upon logging in to my google account I found all the pinned websites on the shelf reverted to showing a single letter, "G". Those are various Google web sites that now differ only by the background color. Steps to reproduce: 1. Pin a number of websites with favicons to the shelf. 2. Remove the user. 3. Log in with that user again. Current Behavior / Reproduction: All pinned web sites sync to the device, but revert to showing a single-letter icon instead of site favicon. Expected Behavior: All pinned web sites show their favicons, as they were when they were initially added to the shelf.

ryepishev@ Could you list some websites that you pinned? Pinning Google website https://events.google.com/io/ to shelf showed icon G by default. Whereas other random websites that I added displayed correct icons even after removing user account and adding it back.

omrilio@, seems important enough to be fixed in the upcoming release?

This was already fixed. The problem is that whatever icons were added prior to M60 (I think it was M60) will stay with the old color and character. Users who added icons to shelf during the bug period will have to readd them.
