I can't see what I am typing in the address bar on google

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.113 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open google 
2. 
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
hoping to see what I am typing

What went wrong?
can't see what I'm typing 

Did this work before? Yes windows 10

Chrome version: 60.0.3112.113  Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0

also, when I open my desktop, the folders are not labeled. 
when I open control panel, icons show up, but now words

no words, sorry

If you're not seeing text on your desktop or in the Windows control panel, then it sounds like the issue you are experiencing is not specific to Chrome. If it's not a Chrome bug, I'm afraid we can't help you so I'm going to close this issue.

Assuming you've already tried restarting your computer, you could try the Windows system restore feature, as outlined here:
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/
It's possible that this could return your Windows installation to a previous state before the problem arose.
