IME for Mus: Pinyin dot doesn't appear in chrome --mash

Issue description

Start a chromeos build of chrome with --mash on a linux workstation
Switch US keyboard input to pinyin input keyboard method. 
Type . in chrome Omnibox.
The dot incorrectly appears as "." instead of "。".

This also happens without Mash. I'm not sure what expected behavior is here.

The built chrome without --mash on a linux workstation requires the IME extension to make Pinyin input work.

This issue is known as the current IMF with --mash hasn't been hooked up with the IME extension yet.
