Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1) Begin with a bookmarks file that uses lowercase tag names, e.g., <dl><p> and <dt><h3>, which are perfectly valid HTML tag names. 2) In Chrome bookmarks, on the Import and Backup menu, choose Import Bookmarks from HTML. 3) Import the bookmarks file. What is the expected behavior? The structure of the bookmarks in Chrome should be identical to the structure in the imported bookmarks file. What went wrong? Chrome imports only a subset of the bookmarks – only those in the first <dl><p> group. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 60.0.3112.113 (Official Build) (64-bit) Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: none

@mross - Thanks for filing the issue...!! Could you please provide a sample test file to test the issue from TE-end. This will help us in triaging the issue further.

Certainly. I have attached to this post three files: an example bookmarks file for testing; a screenshot showing that bookmarks file correctly imported into Firefox; and a screenshot showing that same file incorrectly imported into Chrome. You can see in the Chrome screenshot that the nested structure of the bookmarks is lost, and only those bookmarks in the first group are imported.

The issue is seen in reported version of #stable 60.0.3112.113, latest #dev 63.0.3222.0 and on 50.0.2661.0 with the steps mentioned. 1.Opened chrome browser 2.Downloaded the .html file provided by the reporter 3.Imported it to the bookmarks. 4.Chrome imports a set of the bookmarks in a listed format, as seen in the image uploaded by reporter in comment#3 @Reporter: On following the above steps in all the mentioned versions the issue doesn't seems to be a bug, rather can consider to be a feature request. Hence marking it as untraiged so that it will be addressed to dev for more updates.

> the issue doesn't seems to be a bug, rather can consider to be a feature request. Chrome is failing to import all of the bookmarks and retain the structure of those bookmarks, and instead only importing a subset of them, the first group. How could that *not* be considered a bug?

To state it in a different way: Chrome should not be changing its behavior based solely upon whether the tags are uppercase or lowercase. According to Web standards, the case of the tags should be irrelevant. In fact, most HTML pages on the Web use lowercase tags. Chrome shouldn't be assuming uppercase tags.

Thanks @mjross, for the update. Rechecked this on Firefox and this seems to be working fine there and all the bookmarks are imported without any issues. This seems to be Non-regression issue on Chrome side, hence adding proper component for someone from the respective team to have a look into this.

Okay, thanks. By the way, I've never heard the phrase "non-regression issue". What does that mean? (I googled it and didn't find any helpful explanation.)
