ChromeOS feature request: Trusted Face for Chormoebooks

Project Member Reported by wtroberts@google.com, Sep 19 2017

Issue description

Summary:
I would like the "Trusted Face" mechanism for unlocking my Chromebook

Use case / Motivation:

User opens Chromebook, looks at camera (and perhaps some text on the screen to give some more data for the face recognition), and it unlocks without having to type anything.

This would save my typing my password tens of times per day, e.g. for the classic "Time to go to meeting, close Chromebook, reopen Chromebook, log in, read name of meeting room, close Chromebook again" behaviour.

Existing workarounds:

Type in a password using the keyboard.
