Filed https://github.com/catapult-project/catapult/issues/3892 for the Pinpoint job returning 4 culprits. From the graph, it looks like the first one is the interesting one.

Assigning kbr@ to see if this is an acceptable perf regression from his change.

Yes, it's expected that some machines (in particular those with integrated graphics) will see a performance regression from this change. The hope is that on the whole the quality improvement will make users happier. After reviewing the charts, I'm going to close this as WontFix, but we may need to revisit the heuristics once it reaches Stable.
