Browser task 100% CPU

Reported by pavlina....@gmail.com, Sep 19 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.91 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Just use the browser. I haven't been able to identify what triggers it yet but it happens eventually every time I use it. Hopefully crash dump is of use.

What is the expected behavior?
"Browser" task near idle when not in use.

What went wrong?
Browser task sits around 100%, but still appears responsive. Crash dump obtained by sending SEGV to the process.

Checked the issue with the reported version 61.0.3163.91 on Ubuntu 14.04 by creating multiple profiles with 10 tabs and tried to play videos and all, unable to reproduce the issue.

@Reporter:Could you please check this issue by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and Could you please try following below steps:
1. Go to the Chrome menu ≡ and then go to Settings
2. Scroll down to 'Show advanced settings...' and click on it
3. Scroll down to 'System' and uncheck the box that says 'Use software acceleration when possible.
4. Restart Chrome and please let us know if the issue still persist or not.

Thanks!
Apologies, it looks like this was actually caused by an extension. Disabling several extensions has fixed the problem.

The busy task was the "browser" task rather than an extension task though - if that means it's still considered a Chromium bug let me know what I can do to help; otherwise I'll find the problematic extension and report to the extension developer and you can close this bug.

Thanks for the report and checking.
Per comment #3, this looks not a bug in Chromium itself, so closing the bug.
