form text element > 20 characters empty submitted and shown

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. any html form with text element
2. type in more than 20 chars in text element and submit
3. value is empty...

What is the expected behavior?
show and submit complete value of text element

What went wrong?
this way impossible to submit text, ànd worse : empty values written in SQL database

Did this work before? Yes

 geert.claes4@ can you please provide a test url for faster triage of the bug.
after pacman -Suy yesterday, I can not reproduce the problem today... text-field "emptying"-behaviour stopped
