Sites removed from history still suggested in Omnibox

Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Delete history items using the trash can from the History menu What is the expected behavior? Removed history items are no longer suggested by Omnibox. What went wrong? Sites that were removed even a few days or weeks ago are still suggested from history in the omnibox. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 61.0.3163.81 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.0.1 Flash Version: Does removing history items from the menu not actually remove them from the history datastore ?

This is a bug. Deleted history entries should not be suggested; they should've been removed from the history database. The obvious question I have is whether you deleted every single reference to the site that's showing up as a suggestion. The other possibility is that the suggestion you're seeing is coming from the server, and it's not personalized in any way. For example, all users, when they type something like "facebook.c" will see facebook.com as a suggestion even if the user hasn't visited the page. This is people the server knows it's very likely that's where the user want to go when they type that. To help investigate, can you please provide * a screenshot of the history page search showing no searches from the particular site * output from chrome://omnibox/ On that page, enter in the input that makes the site get suggested in the omnibox, hit submit, and provide a copy of that output too ? thanks, mark

Yes, so the site is not anywhere in the history list and site suggestions are disabled. Screenshots attached

13kurdw, I see you already provided the chrome://omnibox output. Thanks! It looks like the URL suggestion is commenting locally, from history, yet the history search screenshot you've displayed shows it's not in history. I'm not sure how this can happen. (That's why I didn't reply originally when you posted screenshots.) I'm still not sure. I don't even know what else to ask for at this point...
