WebGL crash under Facebook 360 photos under Mesa 17.0.7 on Intel GPUs |

Issue descriptionI've attached the gpu_info for the user reporting this. Please let us know if there's information we can provide. I've asked the reporter to reproduce with Chrome, instead of Chromium, so that we can share a crash ID.

The 360 photo works fine on the only Linux Intel laptop (with Intel HD 520 GPU) I have available. Loading the page works fine, as does going into and out of fullscreen repeatedly. This is on an Ubuntu Zesty installation. about:gpu follows. FWIW, the reporter is using a Lenovo X1 carbon laptop with an HD 5500 (Broadwell GT2) chip (they didn't mention it, but it looks to be 3rd gen X1 carbon based on the GPU info provided).

OK. The laptop I conveniently have available is a Carbon X1 too, but probably more recent. I'm not sure whether this is a problem specific to the Intel HD 5500. Which Linux installation is the submitter using? I note they're using Mesa 17.0.7 and the default install on my machine installed 17.0.3.

Wow, thanks for that suggestion. I manually ran Ubuntu's software updater, which upgraded Mesa from 17.0.3 to 17.0.7, and now visiting the 360 photo here: https://www.facebook.com/photosin360/photos/a.194379157626241.1073741828.194377054293118/444455942618560/?type=3&theater causes the context to be lost in Chrome's GPU process immediately, the GPU process to exit in response, and "Rats, WebGL hit a snag" to be displayed a few seconds later. This is on the same Carbon X1 laptop with Intel HD 520 GPU as above. Here is about:gpu from the system after the upgrade. It looks like 17.0.7 is a bad version of Mesa. Yunchao, could you please report this to Intel's driver team? It is a serious regression. I'm in the process of figuring out whether all WebGL content is broken, or whether it appears to be limited to Facebook's. WebGL's not completely broken; I've run a few pieces of content (including Epic's Zen Garden demo) and they're all working with no issues. Facebook folks: can you please provide the shaders that your 360 photo viewer is compiling? I have a feeling that the problem's likely in the GLSL compiler in Mesa, since other bugs have been fixed there recently. This will save us some time trying to extract them from an application trace. Hi, all, I also could reproduce this issue on desktop(broadwell machine) with mesa 17.0.7. And this issue had been fixed mesa-master-git-acbd024. I had built a mesa binary, you can use it to verify this issue. unpack attached file to MESA_LIB directory, and use below command to run your chrome, LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$MESA_LIB/mesa-acbd024/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=$MESA_LIB/mesa-acbd024/lib/dri google-chrome-stable
