I could not find a page which would let me reliably display the translate flyout (bubble). Neither clearing browsing data nor resetting the Translate setting helps. (I did use branded Chrome where Translate works, though, not the local Chromium build where it does not.)

When I tried to bring the bubbles up manually, the second one always replaced the former. I tried this on GNU/Linux with Chrome 69.0.3497.100.

I suggest closing this as WontFix unless somebody has working reproduction steps.

battre@, could you check if this is still reproducible in recent Chrome versions?

Tried the URL from bug 398805 but it does not offer to translate anymore.

Hmm, it seems that https://www.jecontacte.com/ may reproduce a related issue:

The testers have a video (go/mvsfw) where the translate bubble closes and replaces the password prompt.

When I retried with 71.0.3573.0 (Official Build) dev (64-bit), the password prompt was showing and the translate only had the icon (I could show the translate bubble by clicking it). So maybe this is flaky and the conflict is there, but at least solved by displaying only one of the bubbles at a time.

I am not reopening this bug, because I'm not sure the current behaviour is an issue -- we no longer display both bubbles at the same time, and the only potential problem is with not being sure how the "winner" is chosen.
