Chrome Canary on M62

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(0) Enable Chrome Canary
(1) Wait 3 hours :)
(2) Open Chrome
(3) Immediately tap into omnibox

What is the expected result?

I get the keyboard to start typing in a query

What happens instead?

It starts opening omnibox but suddenly, the Chrome Home surface comes up at half height and cancels the omnibox open
