Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Save an online web content to "html-only" 2. Re-open it with file://... url 3. What is the expected behavior? Page content should be quickly accessible. What went wrong? Page loading is blocked due to some subresources is blocked(by GFW), causing page display in blank & nothing shows up. Have to disable networking to let it shown. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: M61 Channel: n/a OS Version: OS X 10.12 Flash Version: Or at least provide a timeout to skip the IO-blocking subresources' loading...

Unable to reproduce this issue on 61.0.3163.112 , on latest stable 62.0.3202.75 and on latest canary 64.0.3254.0 using Mac 10.12.6 with steps mentioned below. 1.Launched chrome and navigated to https://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1440&bih=692&ei=tkT4WcjsA4jlvgSt5LyoDw&q=images&oq=images&gs_l=img.3..0l10.2149.2990.0.3180.7.7.0.0.0.0.134.522.5j1.6.0....0...1.1.64.img..1.6.520.0..35i39k1.0.aEzUUX-kde0. 2.Right clicked and selected save as >> Selected option Webpage,HTML Only and saved the page. 3.Opened saved file and observed immediate load of saved HTML page. Attaching screencast for reference. @Reporter: Could you please let us know the build on which you are testing. And also please check the issue on latest stable. As i have said, the blocked subresource loading is not due to browser's bug, but it's because of china's GFW. The key point is, when gfw blocks subresource loading, the local file:///.. saved html file cannot be loaded, & it's also been long-lime blocked. Mac triage: WontFix. If you want to save an entire page locally, you need to save the page as "Webpage, Complete" instead of just saving the HTML file. It is allowed for file:// URLs to include remote resources and it would be very broken for us to skip loading such remote resources or change the semantics of their loading. |
