[A11y Assessment - Get Help App] Search box improvements with screen reader |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionOS: Chrome Version: 62.0.3201.0 1) Enable ChromeVox with Ctrl Alt Z 2) Open the Get Help App and start navigating through with ChromeVox navigation: Search + Right Arrow 3) Navigate to the search field, type a search, press enter When you conduct a search in the search field, it would be great if once you press enter, you hear an alert of "X results found" or something along those lines, just to give the user more context that results are now displayed. Right now, there is no verbalization or confirmation that there are in fact search results being displayed in the main section.

Friendly ping - any updates on this? Can we aim to get this in for 64?

I think if we can actually add a section showing how many search results are found, then ChromeVox can directly read the results, and it will be helpful to both ChromeVox and non-ChromeVox users. We need UX input if we want to add this. I need to check it's feasible to let ChromeVox read the count without adding this section.
