DevTools causes screen to stay permanently on (even after closing DevTools) |
||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: Chromium r499611 OS: Android What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open chrome://inspect on a PC. (2) Connect phone to PC with a USB cable. (3) Launch Chrome on the phone. (4) Press home button on phone. (5) Disconnect USB cable. (6) Return to Chrome on phone. What is the expected result? Screen turns off after configured timeout. What happens instead? Screen never turns off. This is because of the wake lock in [1] keeps getting taken every time Chrome becomes visible even if there is no DevTools connection present anymore. Note: Use this command to observe the system's wake lock status: $ watch -n 0.5 "adb shell dumpsys power | grep WakeLockSummary" [1] https://cs.corp.google.com/piper///depot/google3/third_party/chromium_headless/chromium/content/browser/devtools/render_frame_devtools_agent_host.cc?rcl=167377037&l=1046 (Internal bug: http://b/65027180)

Able to reproduce the issue using latest canary #63.0.3208.0 on Pixel 8.1.0 as per the steps mentioned in comment #0. Observed the same behavior in latest Stable #61.0.3163.81 as well. Please find the system's wake lock status screenshot and update. Thanks!! |
