Able to reproduce the issue on 61.0.3163.79 and is broken in M61, below are the bisect details for the same obtained using per revision bisect

You are probably looking for a change made after 484750 (known good), but no later than 484751 (first known bad).

Note: Rechecked this issue again on Canary 63.0.3208.0 and observed that issue is fixed on Canary, so doing a reverse bisect got the following results:

@ chrishtr: Issue could have been fixed by the above cl, request you to please check and confirm.

Adding a blocker for M61, please remove if not the case. Issue is observed only on MAC OS, unable to reproduce it on Windows and Linux OS.

I think this issue should be fixed since it looks like  crbug.com/760807 . That one was merged in M62 though. Can you verify if this still reproduces in latest canary?

@ sunxd: As per my comment in #4 issue is fixed in M62 from build #62.0.3167.0. Also verified it on canary 63.0.3208.0 and issue is fixed on canary as well.

My patch "fixed" it in that it no longer composites all input elements, but the
underlying issue with mask tiling is not fixed.

Could not reproduce this on Android.  For some reason, clank does not merge the border-radius property from the example-unclear into the element.  I've tried back to 56.0.2924.87 and same behavior.  Does anyone know why?

If I put the border-radius property directly into the example class, the radius does take effect but I didn't notice any bluriness in text.  Version used 61.0.3163.72 and 61.0.3163.81.

Steps to reproduce(thanks to Chris):
1. go to https://demo.calltrackingmetrics.com/calls
type enough text into the searchbox that it scrolls
2. click outside the search box to blur it and change it to gray

I think we can revert that solid color analyzer patch, since the bug only occurs with solid color draw quads, but if the mask tiling one is landed, we can do that instead.

we are able to repro the issue as per the steps mentioned in C#0 in Chrome:61.0.3163.81 Device:Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini(GT-I8200N)/JDQ39 and issue got fixed,no blurry text displayed in Chrome:M63(63.0.3212.0) Device:Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini(GT-I8200N)/JDQ39

Checked the issue on Chrome version 61.0.3163.90 and didn't see any blur with text followed steps as I provided in comment#18, 


Note : I was able to verify this issue on Macbook retina, On windows I didn't see the issue at all.

We discovered that the regression range here is different for Android - it regressed in M60 and is fixed in M62.  Since no users reported in M60, and it's already OK in M62, I'm not going to block Android for it, and will go ahead and mark the bug as fixed.  Please re-open if further work is required.

I don't know what might have caused this to get magically fixed. There's been a lot of churn in code though, so it's plausible that I simply cannot attribute the fix to a specific patch. You would need to bisect somehow.

I think it's Chris' patch mentioned in #3 already fixes this issue. The underlying mask tiling issue still persists, but is no longer a blocker.

Can you check if the issue is reproducible in the current M61 release? In that case, we don't need to merge the reverting to M61.
