#1 - you can probably use this page for pasting as GMail must support this in their code for it to work - http://madebyevan.com/clipboard-test/

@hdodda I think you noticed the issue in your own screencast. @phistuck also noted the issue in his referenced link http://madebyevan.com/clipboard-test/. As you can see, Firefox (I only tested on Windows) allows files to be copied via the clipboard whereas Chrome doesn't. This was the issue I had posted about.

Able to reproduce the issue with the reported version 60.0.3112.113 and on latest canary 63.0.3208.0 on Windows 10 and windows 7 and unable to reproduce the issue on ubuntu 14.04 and on Mac 10.12.6 with the steps mentioned below: 1. Copied an HTML file from the desktop. 2. Tried pasting it in omnibox by right clicking the mouse. 3. Paste option is disabled. 4. Unable to paste in the clipboard URL also http://madebyevan.com/clipboard-test/ Issue seems to be Non-Regression as it's reproducible in M-50[50.0.2624.0] as well.
