Chrome Version: Version 63.0.3205.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
OS: Windows 10 Version 1703 (OS Build 16251.0) 64-bit
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Start Chrome and the NVDA screen reader.
(2) Open this URL: https://www.nvaccess.org/files/nvdaTracAttachments/105/
(3) Press control+home to move to the top of the document.
(4) Press k twice to move to the "DriverAudiologic.zip" link.
(5) Press enter to download the file.
(6) Press alt+d to move to the address bar.
(7) Press tab twice to move to the document.
What is the expected result?
NVDA should report the name of the document , etc., indicating that it got focus.
What happens instead?
Nothing is reported on the second press of the tab key.
When this happens, no accessible focus events are fired for the document. Other methods of restoring the focus to the document (e.g. f6 several times, alt+tabbing out and back in again) also fail. The only way to fix this is to reload the document.
Strangely, this does not seem to happen when, for example, downloading an attachment from Gmail. I'm not sure what the difference is here. At a guess, it might have something to do with the document setting DOM focus somewhere else itself in that case.
Impact: At best, this is very annoying for users, as they have to reload the page to continue working with it. At worst, a user might not know what to do at all. Also, it might not be acceptable to reload some pages; e.g. if they contain dynamic content.
