Every so often, when I visit a web page it renders correctly except for a narrow pink checkerboard strip (see screenshot). This isn't a website-specific problem because I've seen it on nytimes.com, wikipedia, and reddit, among others.

    * What device are you using? Nexus 5X

    * What are the steps to reproduce the problem? Not reproducible on demand, but happens a few times a day. It happens often enough that I figured it was worth submitting a bug. (Surely I can't be the only person encountering this.) It doesn't reproducibly happen on any particular page. There's nothing specific that seems to trigger it.

    * What was the expected result? web page renders correctly.

    * What was the actual result? web page renders with a little pink checkerboard strip (see screenshots).

I originally saw this in the O preview, but now it's happening on the Oreo release. My previous bug report has more screenshots: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/63906494

I can't guarantee this is a Chrome bug; it could be something with lower-level rendering.

Tested the issue using # 60.0.3112.116, #61.0.3163.81 on Nexus 5X and was unable to reproduce the issue as per the steps mentioned in comment #0. Did not observe any pink checker board pattern.

@ken: Could you please update your chrome to the latest version and check if you still face the issue?
