Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3198.0 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://uk.godaddy.com/help/add-a-subdomain-that-points-to-an-ip-address-4080 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to https://uk.godaddy.com/help/add-a-subdomain-that-points-to-an-ip-address-4080 2. Scroll up and down the page. Observe that scrolling is very choppy. Scrolling is smooth however in Firefox and Safari 3. Find the `#livechat-compact-container` element in the DOM tree which is a hidden element in the lower-right corner of the page, and disable the `visibility: hidden` rule in the element's inline styles 4. Scroll up and down the page, observe that scrolling is now smooth A performance profile of the page after step 2 shows regular occurrences of frames where ~200ms is spent in compositing layers. When paint flashing is enabled, scrolling up and down the page continually produces a paint flash for the element referenced in step 3. What is the expected behavior? Scrolling should be smooth regardless of the `visibility: hidden` inline style property. What went wrong? Scrolling is choppy when the `visibility: hidden` inline style property is enabled. Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 62.0.3198.0 Channel: dev OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 Flash Version: I tried to capture a static snapshot of the page via File => Save Page As but the element which causes the problem fails to load when the snapshot is opened so the problem is not seen. |
