How to gather Coverage data using Chromedriver

Reported by abhib...@gmail.com, Sep 1 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.113 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
We have explored the newly introduced Coverage tab in chrome DevTools and wanted to use this ability to check how many lines of my JS + CSS code is being hit by my tests running while in a browser, thus using code coverage to improvise my test coverage.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?

We need your help with the following:
1. Wanted to know if there are any chrome options available to enable the coverage profiling in chrome DevTools?
2. Can we save the results as they are displayed in the Coverage tab (Line level coverage green and red formatting)
3. Can we merge the coverage from different chrome sessions?.
4. Is there a official api exposed for java by chrome to interact with the chrome DevTools intern interacting with Coverage. We have already explored the available cdp4j api.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 60.0.3112.113 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
There are no plans to expose coverage data via web driver atm.

Can you guide us with the APIs?
