Site use showModalDialog to alert message, causing usability problems

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Example URL: https://tower.im Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. https://tower.im is a SaaS for project management, i use it to collect some articles, and it has a html rich editor which can directly paste dom content in 2. When pasted content a data url image, tower.im rich editor doesn't support it, so it uses showModalDialog API to alert messages 3. What is the expected behavior? modal dialogs should be able to supress What went wrong? sometimes these modal dialogs keep popping up, causing me event cannot switch to other tabs or windows Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? [mac bug triage] ctengctsh@ - Are you talking about this javascript alert dialog? (See the attachment.) They should have started getting dismissed automatically when you try and switch a tab with it open now - see the duplicate bug 629964 . This change apparently went out in May 2017, so if you're still not able to switch tabs with the alert dialog open, please feel free to reopen this bug / mark it a non-duplicate.

Hi, There is some difference: on my case, the site seems to keep showing modal dialog due to some js dead-loop bugs, while your "dismiss automatically when switch to other tabs" may be just effective to one-time showModalDialog? 2017-09-19 12:04 GMT+08:00 patricia… via monorail < monorail+v2.2612070699@chromium.org>: |
