hello my freind.Im (mr.brave).

yes.i have this same problem so and like you reported in Google product forum and here..

my laptap has two graphics..right now i changed default selected graphic (Intel) for chrome to Nvidia dedicated

i see this problem fixed!!! rather than disabling Hardware Accelrator that arising many other problems this soulation worked for me if you have two graphics and updated drivers..

byoram02 Thanks for the issue.

Unable to repro the issue on Ubuntu 14.04, Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.12.6 using latest canary 62.0.3200.0 and latest stable 60.0.3112.113 with the below steps

1. launched Chrome and opened a random page.
2. In chrome://settings , searched for Hardware Acceleration and put it as 'On'.
3. Minimized the webpage and restored it.
Could observe that the content of the webpage is loading without any issues and no black screen is observed.

Request you to please retry the issue by on a fresh chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread if the issue still exists.

Thanks..

So here is a scenario i can reproduce: opening two tabs: Yahoo.com, and NYT.com; when then restoring from Minimize on the Yahoo.com I have no issues, when restoring from the NYT, I get the Black screen. leaving both open and restoring from Yahoo, no problem, restoring from NYT, issue persists

I start to think that this has to do with pages that carry live graphics such as what the NYT is having (as of 7:54 am EST on 8/31), but Yahoo does not, at least not for the moment.

Perhaps a Graphics driver? I tried reinstalling the driver (without removing the old one), my Yoga 910 only has Intel HD620, with no Nvidia/AMD GPU

Same problem. Same version of everything as OP. Mine started happening today at random times, and not sure how to reproduce.
