Corrupted canvas rendering in Granblue Fantasy

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Log into Granblue Fantasy (your account probably needs to pass the tutorial, but I'm not sure)
2. Visit the specific URL to start a game of poker
3. Click Deal

What is the expected behavior?
Correct rendering

What went wrong?
In canary, once the hand is dealt the rendering of the cards is severely glitched. Screenshots included.

Able to reproduce the issue on the latest canary(62.0.3197.0) on Windows-10. Same worked fine on the Mac OS 10.12.6 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04.

Regressed in M-62.

Last good build: 62.0.3194.0
First bad build: 62.0.3196.0(no 62.0.3195.0)

I have no idea how to repro this - I tried to do the tutorial, but I can't seem to make an account -- all the services that require a linked account are in Japanese and/or restrict accounts to Japan.

Is there a way to record a trace of the drawing operations for you so that you don't have to login and play the game? If not, would it work for me to provide an account?
I don't have a good way to record a trace unfortunately.

If you could provide me an unsecured account that has no confidental password or information, I can try with that. I tried a bit more and wasn't able to link an account with the website.

What you want to do is click the 'mobage' login option, and then click to log in with G+ (it uses the regular oauth login path, I think?). I've been playing using my personal gmail account. That should bump you into a tutorial, and I *think* you can just go straight to the poker mode from there by hitting the URL in the bug, but I'm not certain it will work with a new account.

I'll find some time to make an account for testing this bug, though.

Just noticed that the world map screen is also mangled. And if I turn off hardware acceleration, everything looks right. The url for that is http://game.granbluefantasy.jp/#quest/index , and I think you would have access to that with a brand new account.

I am able to reproduce this without any log in. Navigated to http://game.granbluefantasy.jp/ and clicked the 2nd button which directs to http://game.granbluefantasy.jp/#tutorial/3 and we can see the glitches there.

Ajha thanks. I tried in Canary and I could see the rendering problems immediately. I was using my main browser which was a 60-release and it didn't demonstrate the issue. I'll try to do a bisect.

I wasn't able to do a full bisect since I'm off-corp on my Windows machine, but it turned up this regression range:

D3D11: Temporarily disable vertex array dirty bits.

In some cases we could end up with bufferSubData updates being left
in staging buffers during a draw call. Currently we rely on 
InputLayoutCache::applyVertexBuffers to flush all pending buffer
updates, but this could be done in VertexArray11::syncState, or
even in the draw call sync state.

CL missed the yesterday's Dev release 62.0.3198.0. This however is working fine on the latest canary(62.0.3200.0) of Windows-10.

Hence adding the verified label.

Thanks. Going to request a merge. The fix is quite minimal (https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/642057) and fixes a pretty large regression.
