1. When you open the browser, no information appears, the browser is all black. When maximizing, it returns to normal. There is also a failure to download images as downloading occurs normally, but images are not displayed when opened in the viewer. This only happens in this browser. [60.0.3112.113]
2. I can not do an action on Google, google is black screen [60.0.3112.101]
3. When I launch Google Chrome for the first time when I access any site the background remains black no image, no writing. [60.0.3112.101]
4. When minimizing Chrome and then maximizing it, Chrome comes back up with a black Window. If I click the top of the window to move it around, this will restore Chrome to how it should be. The issue happens on every website. [60.0.3112.113]

Tested the issue on windows 10 & 7 , ubuntu 14.04 and mac os 10.12.6 using chrome M60 #60.0.3112.113 and M62 #62.0.3198.0 and reported version #60.0.3112.101 and #60.0.3112.90 (Corp & Non-Corp Machines) and unable to reproduce the issue. Followed below steps : 1. Opened browser from fresh install and minimized and maximized the window and repeated this for few times. 2. After browsing in chrome for sometime , minimized the window and maximized and didn't observe any black screen. 3. Downloaded images from chrome to the desktop and didn't observe any issue. Attached screencast for reference. There was a similar issue 755859 on windows . @Also adding concern developer in cc , could someone please look into this. Thanks!

Could this be related to your frame eviction work, Saman?

That work hasn't landed yet. Could this be because of SurfaceReferences?

I would like to share my conclusions after few hours of testing: 1. According to the users comments, this issue seems to affect only Intel HD Graphics 500 and 600 series. 2. This issue does not affect every website. For example in my case youtube.com and reddit.com are affected, while twitter.com is not. 3. This issue seems to happen only using HTTPS protocol. I've set up a testing server and domain with Apache2 Debian default page. After that I removed domain from HSTS set (chrome://net-internals/#hsts) and opened 2 tabs with both HTTPS and HTTP version of this site. The HTTP version never triggered the black screen (0/10), while HTTPS did most of the time (9/10). 4. This issue does not happen when using incognito mode with both HTTPS and HTTP. I could not reproduce the black screen a single time during this test. Note that for testing all extensions were disabled in both normal and incognito mode. 5. Every time this issues happens, the following message appears on chrome://gpu page: "[11220:2172:0912/121024.655:ERROR:gles2_cmd_decoder.cc(8856)] : [.DisplayCompositor-00000230791131C0]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glSetDrawRectangleCHROMIUM: failed on surface". OS: Windows 10 Home x64 15063.540 GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU Driver Version: 21.20.16.4727 Chrome: 61.0.3163.79 (64-bit)

This seem to be an issue with Intel Graphic only. Intel know the bug and are working on it. See this post on the Intel forum : https://communities.intel.com/thread/117565 The bug also affect Office and Edge with hardware acceleration turned on.

i found a solution for this problem!!! Please change default graphic processor (intel) to Nvidia or AMD dedicated graphic processor in right click content menu or nvidia, amd control panel and you will see this problem disapear!! it seems problem is from intel +500 series driver and must be report to to intel support.. note: disabling hardware accelerator is not good solution for this scenario!! because made another problem and laggy exprience in web browsing and watching videos or google map (any contenet in the web that needs high graphic proccesing)!!! other freinds that pointed a note where chrome 60 has problem with intel hd +500 series. i think this is true!! we must report this issue to intel hd +500 series support! report link of this bug to intel for request faster resolving this driver issue: https://communities.intel.com/thread/117565
