Two wrong German localizations in Smart Lock Settings

Reported by norb...@rittel.de, Aug 22 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9765.31.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.51 Safari/537.36
Platform: 9765.31.0 (Official Build) dev-channel panther

Steps to reproduce the problem:
In the settings for Smart Lock there is a popup menu for the distance between the Chrome OS device and the smartphone.

The choices are:

Very close
Close
Distant
Very distant

What is the expected behavior?
The German localization of "Close" in this context should be
"Nah"

What went wrong?
It was auto-translated to "Schließen" which is the verb "to close" ... 8-)

There is also another typo a little above on the line

"Ihr <device type> kann mir Ihrem Android-Smartphone entsperrt werden"

Should be "mit".

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 61.0.3163.51 Channel: dev
OS Version: 9765.31.0

Hi,

Thank you for submitting a report we're internally triaging the bug and we'll update the thread once it's fixed.

Regards!

Hi,

The language POC already fixed the typo error. Unfortunately, the German string "Schließen" is more on an Engineering case. This is a global problem, not a German one. It has been forwarded to the Engineering Team.

Feel free to provide some feedback.

Regards!
