Several Mac BattOrs have appeared to have gotten wedged during the download step. This is indicated by the red LED being on when the BattOrs were reset.

I have found a few parts of the download step in the firwmware where these sorts of freezes could happen. They are all extremely unlikely, but I think given the strange behavior of the Mac FTDI driver, they make these freezes much more likely.

I have started rewriting those parts of the download code that could end up in infinite loops to instead do a loop with timeout. I am confident that this will resolve the issue.
