Evaluate one-copy performance on Baytrail with native GMBs |
||
Issue descriptionNative GPU memory buffers were enabled on CrOS Baytrail devices with crrev.com/873c4f8c99332e31f4b8dc9911d2166ddc41dec6 In the CL description it says it was tested with zero-copy on BYT, but it doesn't say anything about one-copy. We currently use one-copy on all the CrOS devices. We should make sure that one-copy with native GMBs is better than one-copy with shared memory.

When I worked on one/zero-copy, Intel validation team measures power and performance comparison on 3 generation big core as well as BayTrail. https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/native-one-copy-texture-uploads-for-chrome-os-on-intel-architecture-enabled-by-default It shows both zero-copy and one-copy by native GBM is better than one-copy with shared memory. |
