Per comment #4 in Issue 731735, I think this is (unfortunately) working as intended.

Comment #4 in Issue 731735:
> Not sure if related, but I noticed that there are two entries for Chrome in the Notifications system preferences.

> Correct, because we display different kinds of notifications (both banners and alerts) whereas the system only allows an individual entry to display either.

In this light, it makes sense that two entries would exist, one for banners and the other for alerts. But the larger question is why we need to display both banners and alerts? If it's not standard within Mac apps, why does Chrome need both?

@lgray Thank you for the follow up that this is "working as intended". It is reassuring to know that chromium engineers (?) feel that their product has to work differently than any other app on the market. Pretty much every and all app, including other browsers, provide notifications of different kinds using a single entry. Chrome, however, is different. It needs two. After all, pfff, it's Chrome, not some lousy Firefox or Safari.

In that case may I suggest to try to have at least 8 notification entries to show up in the panel? You know... I just like things to be divisible by eight...

Thanks for considering!
I've read all, starting from the source of this topi (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/Y2u4K3Bwskg)..and I can sadly confirm you that nothing changed.

macOS 10.13.4
Fresh installation of Chrome from a first boot and update of MacBook Pro 2017 (Chorme 66.0.3359.181-64 bit).

Is there a *REAL* intention of fix this bug?
