Buttons disappear when changing disabled state

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.101 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open https://codepen.io/anon/pen/QMaEGQ?editors=1111
2. Remove the disabled attribute from the button 
3. The button disappears

What is the expected behavior?
The button should remain visible but become enabled

What went wrong?
The button completely disappears. Per my tests it works correctly on Chrome 59, but not Chrome 60.

Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes

Is it a problem with a plugin? No 

Did this work before? Yes 59

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 60.0.3112.101  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.5

Judging by the fix, this issue is a duplicate of  issue 731044 .

Simplified test case is attached: just click the "Click me" button.
EXPECTED: the second button becomes enabled
OBSERVED: the second button disappears
