DevTools>Performance hangs indefinitely on "Loading profile" state

Project Member Reported by voideanv...@fb.com, Aug 15 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: Google Chrome	61.0.3163.39 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)
OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open dev tools to performance tab, click "Start profiling and reload page"
(2) After the recording is finished, it seems to get stuck indefinitely on "Loading profile" state (with empty progress bar)

I was able to reproduce this consistently on the release channel and can repro is intermittently on the beta after I updated to it. Haven't been able to repro at all on Canary yet.

Another Facebook employee mentioned that they noticed this issue earlier today (not sure what version of Chrome they were using).

Is there a way to see logs from the dev tools component / open dev tools for the dev tools? (My understanding is that it is a webpage itself)? When I repro this again, what additional information can I provide to help debug this issue?

One million dollar question.

Thanks for the report. There is a way to open DevTools on DevTools to check for frontend errors: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12291138/how-do-you-inspect-the-web-inspector-in-chrome/12291163#12291163

alph@, may know if there were recent changes that might not be in stable yet. alph@, could you please help investigate?

Closing it for now as a non-repro. Please reopen if you have a repro steps, or can see an exception in DevTools on DevTools console (see comment 2).
