Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.90 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Add "overflow:hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis;" to css 2. Apply class to HTML select tag 3. What is the expected behavior? On long texts, texts that overflow should be hidden and truncated to show ellipsis What went wrong? Chromium does not respect the CSS class and does not style overflows accordingly. Instead, texts that are shown are clipped to the width of the HTML select. Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 60.0.3112.90 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 Flash Version:

I'm not sure if this is a text or input issue, eae/kojii, could you PTAL? Do we intend to support this?

While the use case looks reasonable, the spec doesn't say these properties should be propagated to inner boxes the option elements create, so this looks by design to me. Over to the forms team.
