Copying from a desktop app into chromium doesn't copy all text on Linux

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. wget http://norvig.com/big.txt 2. gedit big.txt 3. select all text and copy 4. try to paste it in a multiline text field What is the expected behavior? All text is pasted. What went wrong? The copied text is truncated. Note: gedit prints a message on console. > (gedit:665): Gdk-WARNING **: Error writing selection data: Error writing to file descriptor: Broken pipe Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version: I found this issue when copying text in vscode (chromium derived). Hi, thanks for looking into this. This reproduces consistently for me on Fedora 25 using Google Chrome59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit). See attached screenshot.
