Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.39 Safari/537.36 Example URL: any webpage Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to a color heavy website in the macOS beta channel of Chrome 2. Go to same website in Firefox 3. Take a screenshot of both browser windows opened up side by side. 4. Use a color dropper and take note the difference in color value on what should be identical colors. What is the expected behavior? The expected behavior is for color to render similarly to other browsers. What went wrong? Chrome used to render color identically to Firefox and most other browsers, but as of the latest beta channel update, the colors render dark. Safari on macOS has a similar problem which can be searched for, and I believe it has something to do with color profiles. I believe the dark color rendering on Chrome and Safari are related, as they have exact color rendering. Before the beta channel update, Chrome color rendering was lighter than Safari, matching Firefox and other browsers. I've attached a screenshot showing Firefox on the left and Chrome on the right. You will notice the color difference if you use the eyedropper tool to grab the color value. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? Yes Versions prior to 61.0.3163.39. Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 61.0.3163.39 Channel: beta OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 Flash Version: I noticed the problem after the Wednesday (8/9) beta channel update on macOS.

I will also note that this new color rendering behavior is inaccurate, and not ideal. The colors values in chrome do not match the color values specified in code, nor do they match images as viewed on macOS default preview viewer. Here is an example of color rendering on chrome, verses the specified color in the code:

I figured out the issue. In chrome://flags, there is an option called "Color correct rendering." If enabled, the colors render inaccurately. If I disable it, the colors render correctly again.

This is working as intended -- the color dropper specifies colors in the monitor's color space. CSS (and default images) specify color in sRGB. One way to avoid this issue is to set your monitor to be sRGB -- this can be done in System Preferences -> Displays -> Color. In that panel, set "Display profile" to "sRGB IEC61966-2.1".

Thanks, switching my display profile did the trick.
