Cursor does not blink autofocus when you come from unsafe warning

Reported by mviv...@gmail.com, Aug 9 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.78 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to any private IP ( self signed certificate ) - which chrome declares as unsafe -- "Your connection is not private" page.
2. Select advanced and proceed to the landing page
3. The auto focus is set, but the cursor does not blink
4. Start typing -- the autofocused input takes the given text, but the blinking is still not seen.
5a. Change tab and come back -- blinking comes back.
5b. Refresh the page, since you've already marked the page as safe, unsafe warning will not come again and hence -- blinking comes as normal.

What is the expected behavior?
When you traverse to the unsafe page by clicking on proceed - cursor should blink on the autofocused input

What went wrong?
blinking doesn't work on autofocused item

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 58 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 7
Flash Version:

have added a question on stackoverflow to check if there's a way to overcome this.

https://stackoverflow.com/q/45366291/862216

Seems like i'm not the only one who's facing this

Also,

This is seen only from chrome 58 and onwards ( not earlier ). Any OS

The blinking did work before. It stopped working only after 58 version.

It's a private deployment of trac. Not accessible from public.

Access any "unsafe" website ( with caution ) and the issue should be present.

I am having the exact same problem. It has nothing to do with autofocus.

After proceeding from the "Your connection is not private" page, the blinking caret and focus highlight do not show at all, no matter which object is focused. Tabbing or clicking within the webpage do not change anything. Clicking outside the browser page restores the caret.

Reporter@ Tested this issue on latest Stable and Canary on Windows 7 and unable to reproduce the issue.

1. Launched Chrome and navigated to https://poolerdiscountfurniture.com/ (unsafe website).
2. Clicked on Advanced link and on entering the webpage and on hitting the Tab key, could see no issues and it is working as intended.
Attached is the screen cast for reference.

Request you to please update chrome to the latest version and retry the issue. Please update the thread with the observations and screen cast will be helpful in better understanding.

Thanks..
