Broken images links doesn't display "broken place holder"

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.78 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a html file 2. Put inside this html an image tag with broken src attribute (ex: <img src="foobar"/>) What is the expected behavior? Chrome should display a "broken image" placeholder with a min height of 22px (+/-). What went wrong? Chrome does not display this placeholder anymore. Did this work before? Yes 59 Chrome version: 60.0.3112.78 Channel: stable OS Version: ubuntu 14.04 LTS Flash Version: I've tested it on Chrome 61, same issue happent.

Additionally if the img has an alt attribute, it's displaying the content of the alt attribute as plain text.

I've wanted to revert the patch, but there has been resistance. We need escalation on this because it's user and developer facing and we changed the behavior without providing the workaround that Firefox provides. |
