Issue descriptionChrome Version: 62.0.3178.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) OS: All? What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go here https://jsfiddle.net/greggman/zyvnLewx/ What is the expected result? The first page of Japanese has no gaps (see attached screenshot) What happens instead? There's an incorrect gap everywhere there was a line break in the HTML Try it in Firefox and it's displayed correctly. This is by design for CSS2, and CSS Text Level 3 has improved the logic to support i18n scenario better. We're planning to support in LayoutNG as you pointed out, but no one is working on for the current engine atm.
