Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.90 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://spellup.withgoogle.com/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to https://spellup.withgoogle.com/ 2. Wait for the game to load 100%. 3. When "I need to use your microphone" appears, allow it. 4. Website asks to make some noise to test microphone, so make some noise. 5. Play game. What is the expected behavior? Can get pass step 3. What went wrong? In step 3, even after allowing microphone access, still stuck at the same screen. Did this work before? Yes Chrome 56 Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5 Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 60.0.3112.90 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Contents of chrome://gpu: Checking developer console, you will see an error webkitAudioContext not available (removed since Chrome 57 [0]). Workaround is in step 1, while waiting for loading, type "webkitAudioContext = AudioContext" in developer console. You will be able to get pass till step 5 and play game. However, speech synthesis is not working while speech recognition and sound effects are working. Google Spell Up is a Chrome experiment created in 2014. It is very popular among teachers and students. If Google no longer wants to maintain it, please consider open-sourcing it on Github. Yep, this was finally removed in Chrome 57, as mentioned in issue 665887 . It had been deprecated a long time before that and was finally removed for 57. It would be nice to get chrome experiments updated.

WontFix (WAI). We're trying to reach out to spellup owners to fix the application. |
