Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.90 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install Google play music app, this provides capability to control music on https://play.google.com/music via media buttons on keyboard 2. After chrome update media buttons stops working 3. I disabled then enabled the app and buttons started working again What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? if this app https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-play-music/fahmaaghhglfmonjliepjlchgpgfmobi is installed then media buttons should be able to control music on https://play.google.com/music which is not the case WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-play-music/fahmaaghhglfmonjliepjlchgpgfmobi Did this work before? Yes observed this issue for first time in 58 Chrome version: 60.0.3112.90 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version:

Tested the issue on ubuntu 14.04 and mac os 10.12.6 using chrome M60 #60.0.3112.90 and issue is not reproduced with the steps mentioned in comment #0. Attached screencast for reference. @deepankar7tyagi-- Could you please check attached screencast and confirm us if we have missed any steps in reproducing the issue and also please check with fresh chrome profile without any extensions and flags enabled and update us with the screencast for better understanding. Thanks!

As per the screencast following media actions were not tested play next play previous play/pause i.e. controlling above mentioned three tasks from media button present on keyboard. For me these are the actions which cause problem I am able to change sound volume (which was tested as per screencast) I should have been more specific, apologies for that.

@deepankar7tyagi: Are you still able to reproduce the issue in latest Chrome #62.0.3202.89? Thanks!!

It sounds like the media keys might be grabbed by GNOME 3 rather than Chrome. Ubuntu 14.04 does not use GNOME 3 while Ubuntu 17.04 does. Can you see if this is the problem: https://major.io/2015/02/20/using-playpause-buttons-in-chrome-with-gnome-3/
