First, here is the current behavior: chrome window opens maximized only 1) if there is no other chrome window 2) if a user closed chrome window in maximized state A couple of clarifications needed: *) App/browser remembers its bounds, so once a user restores it, it will open in normal window state? *) App/browser uses the existing window, if any, to determine the size for new window. I assume this should stay the same? *) If it's opened as an open file dialog, it should not open maximized, correct?

Hi Alex, Could you give some detail around what "smaller screens" mean and what the current issue is with the window size on those devices? Trying to better understand the space before I form an opinion :)

<files-triage> weifang, can you confirm what the default app logic is for chromebooks? Should the files app open maximised by default on smaller screens? :)

CBC-RS/TC-warchlist My 2 cents worth. 1. Windows and apps only open maximized if closed maximized by user, default is centered. 2. Chrome OS always remembers the last size of a window 3. ctrl + n opens a window in the same size as last focused window size 4. I never, ever, open/close a window or app maximized even on the 10" Asus Flip 5. Apps open in the last size and screen position as do websites set to open as a window. I always want the Files app especially to open in the same size and position to make it easier to drag and drop into a Doc or email etc.

<files-triage> I think Files app is WAI. For tablet mode, we do open Files app as maximized. |
