#Techstop -- Chrome Notifications not showing up with external 4k display connected

Project Member Reported by klund@google.com, Aug 4 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version : 60.0.3112.90
OS Version: OS X 10.12.6
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested: n/a

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Background -- using macbook pro mirroring a second display; Acer UHD 4k display

1. have meeting scheduled in calendar (notifications for calendar are turned on by the enterprise)
2. once it is time for the meeting notification to show I hear the sound, but the notification does not show up
3. If the external display is unplugged after the notification I will see the notification in the expected location near the top right hand corner of the chrome window. Notifications will also show up just fine when not connected to the monitor.

What is the expected result?
For the notification to show up

What happens instead of that?
Notification does not display at all.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Also seeing this in gmail as well after turning on notifications to test.

UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.90 Safari/537.36

This is also happening on my mac when plugged into the 4k display. Same setup -- macbook pro, mirroring using the native 4k resolution and not getting any notifications pop ups, just the sound.

We use the native system notification center on Mac, so it surprises me that it has this issue.

The following Stack Overflow result pops up after a search, is this of any help?

Ahh, did not realize that Chrome was using a native means to show this notification. That seems to be exactly it. The DnD is set when mirroring to TVs and projectors. It must be done by default because I have checked a few macs here and it looks like that box is checked for them as well.

So this does not appear to be a Chrome bug after all -- Marking as WontFix since this is WAI
