This issue is still reproducible on latest linux 62.0.3179.0 dev. But the issue into which it duped got fixed and no longer reproducible on 62.0.3179.0 dev. Hence un-merging it. Please change if not the case.

+hwi, sgabriel, awdf #1 - How did you confirm this on Mac? We switched to native notifications there, you shouldn't see our toasts at all. #5 - Ack. The issue is that the refactoring removed the HasClickedListener() override from the used delegate, which in turn changed the cursor. Interestingly I notice that we never seem to have showed a cursor for Web Notifications, but that we did for extension notifications. This is a very simple and safe fix for extensions[1], but I wonder if we should just enable the cursor for Web Notifications too[2]. Hwi, would you have an opinion about this, or know the right person to ask? [1] https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/605890 [2] https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/605891

IMO, using the regular cursor (arrow) instead of the pointer (hand) seems a good path forward since notifications on Windows and OSX use the regular cursor (arrow) for notification body area as well as for controls e.g. buttons. Also on ChromeOS, the arrow cursor is widely used. With that, we would need to keep an eye on whether or not an additional visual feedback such as hover highlight or click/touch ripple is necessary on the clickable body area.

Can't repro this on the latest Chrome release (on Linux) anymore (I see the hand pointer when I hover over the web notification), so closing the bug. Please reopen there's a recent repro, and provide details. Thanks! |
