Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9592.71.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.80 Safari/537.36 Platform: 9592.71.0 (Official Build) beta-channel caroline Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. open Google Doc 2. bring up on-screen keyboard 3. click 3 dots > pen icon 4. write something 5. click on words to add as text What is the expected behavior? That it works. What went wrong? Can not add the text. I think it has to do with the Google Docs native handwriting input tool interfering. Taskbar under "more" in Docs. In tablet mode, the onscreen keyboard makes it impossible to use the native one. And it does not work. In laptop mode, the onscreen keyboard is not automatically activated so you can use the Docs native handwriting tool. See screenshots. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 60.0.3112.80 Channel: n/a OS Version: 9592.71.0 Flash Version: 26.0.0.137 /opt/google/chrome/pepper/libpepflashplayer.so CBC topic Handwriting recognition from default keyboard not working in google docs - Google Product Forums https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/nhgGmk5V7l4;context-place=forum/chromebook-central

I think this is a Docs bug that shares the same root cause of the issue of cannot input Emoji in Docs via Emoji palette on MacOS.

I confirmed this issue was fixed by Docs side. |
