Chorme 60.0.3112.78-1 does not install on fresh install of Ubuntu 17.04

Reported by gurind...@gmail.com, Aug 2 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install fresh Ubuntu(Linux yosemite 4.10.0-19-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 6 17:04:57 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) guest VM on top of Windows 10 Pro v1703 build 15063.483 via Oracle VirtualBox 5.1.24r117012(Qt5.6.2) on a Dell Insperion 15 5565(AMD FX-9800P)

2. Downloaded google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb via Firefox
3. Run downloaded .deb, which started Ubuntu Software
4. Clicked on "install" button and nothing happened. Nothing in /var/log/system either.

What is the expected behavior?
Expected Chrome browser install, like it always has for the past 100 times.

What went wrong?
"install" button doesn't start install.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 60.0.3112.78-1 Channel: stable
OS Version: Linux yosemite 4.10.0-19-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 6 17:04:57 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0

This is my first use of Ubuntu 17.04. I've been using Chrome on this same Dell laptop in Win10Pro host OS without any issues. Also, have been using Chrome on 16.04 for last few years without any issue.
