Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS aarch64 9592.71.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.80 Safari/537.36 Platform: 9592.71.0 (Official Build) beta-channel kevin Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Attempt to upload music files from Samsung Chromebook Plus. 2. No error message is displayed, but no files ever upload. What is the expected behavior? Music files are uploaded correctly. What went wrong? Not sure what's up with this issue. Music files work well on other Chromebooks, like the Chromebook Pro and the HP Chromebook 11, but for some reason, the Plus has NEVER been able to upload to Google Play Music since it first was released. This is a common issue, according to many other user reports (see https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/YDMyKgsdgeI;context-place=topicsearchin/chromebook-central/plus$20uploading$20music%7Csort:date and https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/IRKpOyJy8tM;context-place=topicsearchin/chromebook-central/plus$20uploading$20music%7Csort:date, and it would be nice to get some clarification on if this is ever going to be fixed. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 60.0.3112.80 Channel: beta OS Version: 9592.71.0 Flash Version:

Maybe the problem has the same root as issue #441676. I don't know the hard disk type of the Samsung Chromebook Plus but since Chromium is not very flexible in detecting device id in linux it can be that the hardcoded disk types (i.e. "sda1", "hda1", "dm-0", "xvda1", "sda2", "hda2", "dm-1", "xvda2") do not include the Chromebook one. On linux I was able to upload songs again after having created some simlinks (creating a fake sda1) as written in this comment: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=441676#c10

FWIW, I'm still seeing this, on two different Chromebooks (chell and caroline), as well as on different WiFi networks...any other workaround to upload music?

I think there at least 2 different types of issues referred here. 1. unable to login to Play Music 2. upload doesn't start I think the summary of this Issue refers to the latter. I could reproduce the latter issue. 1. Successfully logged in to Play Music. 2. Open menu by the icon on top-left. 3. Choose [Upload music]. See the "Add music" window pops up in the website. 4. Open the Files app and drag&drop a .mp3 file in side My Drive. At step 4, if I use "select from your computer" button instead, it works fine. Additionally when a file in Downloads is drag & dropped, it works fine.

mkarkada@, have you seen this behaviour in M65+?

Yes, I'm able to repro this on latest M65 (10323.58.0, 65.0.3325.167) beta channel kevin device. Repro steps: 1. Login to Google Play Music on chrome browser 2. Click on top-left menu> Upload music 3. "Add music" window pops up 4. Select from your computer option> choose .mp3 file from Files app. 5. Uploading symbol (an orange icon) is seen. 6. But the file was not uploaded. The uploaded status (a green tick symbol) was also not shown. This issue was not seen on eve for the same build. MP3 file got uploaded successfully. Once file upload was successful, a green tick symbol was displayed.

Thanks for checking mkarkada@! Interesting that we're seeing different behavior across different devices. Not sure if this is 100% a file issue? Moving back to triage queue to see if we can get a better idea of possible cause.
