Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.78 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: This happens sporadically and is not reliably reproducible. The behavior is consistent when it occurs, however, and it's a very annoying issue that wasn't present on earlier versions of Chrome. The hang occurs for a few seconds when I switch tabs with either the mouse or via keyboard shortcuts, or open a dropdown menu on a web page. What is the expected behavior? Chrome should never hang. What went wrong? On a Surface Pro 4, ever since Chrome 60 came out, the whole browser has been periodically freezing when I switch tabs for a few seconds (or when doing things like opening a dropdown menu on a web page) unless I touch the screen. This is the whole browser chrome, clicking the address bar/tabs/etc doesn't do anything until I wait for about 5 seconds or touch the screen. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 60.0.3112.78 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: I'm trying to get a screen recording of the issue.

The issue does not occur consistently, but happens at least twice a day for me. I'll reset the profile and try to record a video.

@mail-- Could you please update your chrome profile to latest stable and confirm us if you are still able to reproduce the issue in a fresh chrome profile without any extensions and flags enabled. Thanks!

Hi, I have done so, reset my profile and reinstalled Chrome. It still occurs (although interestingly, it goes away when I start a video recorder like OBS studio and starts again when I exit it). Therefore, I have used a low tech screen recorder to capture the issue in action (it also occurs with the user profile menu, and as shown in the video, with a new tab). Sorry in advance for the orientation and focus issues. I have all the latest driver updates from Microsoft. The video is 35MB and the max upload limit is 10MB, so I have uploaded it to YouTube: https://youtu.be/oSHuKgrk930

Here is a longer, better video demonstrating the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdreKKT3b0E&feature=youtu.be Again, the issue does not occur when a screen recorder is enabled, which might be worth noting. In this video, I point out the profile menu fade in animation hanging (along with the rest of the browser), leaving the panel with around 20% opacity several times. Also, note that when I open the settings tab through the profile menu at the end, it doesn't load until I touch the screen. Then, the spinner hangs immediately afterwards (along with the rest of the browser) and the page doesn't load further, until I touch the screen. You should be able to hear the mouse clicking sounds in this video.

Here is another video showing the issue happening with more tabs (GitHub, in this case): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqDDGiAwWd4&feature=youtu.be Note how it occurs inconsistently (about 20% of the time in this case), and that Windows temporarily displays the "not responding" titlebar until Chrome responds or I touch the screen in some instances. Be sure to turn on the audio ;)

@MTVTeam-- Could someone from MTV team look into this , as TE-India team doesn't have the surface pro machine to test this issue. Thanks!

I'm just going to note again that this issue doesn't happen consistently on both machines that I've managed to reproduce it on, it usually manifests after about an hour of use (though sometimes it occurs sooner).

Also another note: this issues goes away completely when I enable HDR mode in flags (just attempting a fix by toggling anything display related), and comes back when I turn it off. The window chrome colors are slightly strange, but there are no hangs.

Adding some "Touch" components in hopes they'll know what to do with this bug.
