Issue descriptionPixel C/OPM1.17031.001 webview : 62.0.3172.0 and system image : 61.0.3163.13 Steps to reproduce: (1) Flash your device with above android version (2) Add account. (3) Add only BT mouse (i have added M557 BT mouse - connected successfully) (4) using the BT mouse > launch gmail or play store or any apps > focus the curor on the edit fields or compose to/cc/bcc Expected result: device soft keyboard is launched Actual result: soft keyboard is not launching -Addtional info -Repro 3/3 -Attaching logcat/video/bugreport

I guess physical (BT) keyboard is connected as you can see the icon in the status bar. The WebView behavior is same as Android's edittext widget here, so it is working as expected. Closing as wont fix.

+amaralp@ as FYI. It seems that a recent Android O change suppresses OSK appearance when a physical keyboard is connected. So we get the ideal behavior discussed in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=730038#c3 without needing to do anything special.

On second thought, changwan@ mentioned that there is a setting to disable OSK show accessible from the physical keyboard icon. It's also possible that a previous tester changed this setting on the device, instead of the system default being changed. |
