Cannot Highlight Text on NYT.com articles

Reported by marcym...@gmail.com, Jul 29 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.78 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to NYT.com
2. click on any article
3. Try to highlight text/sentence

What is the expected behavior?
That text would become highlighted and I could copy and past that text to a new program (say, Word or email)

What went wrong?
The highlight function seemed completely disabled. Does not happen on other website when using Chrome. And does not happen on NYT website when using another brower (not Chrome). So there is something between Chrome and NYT that is not working.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 60.0.3112.78 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

This is a new issue with my new Dell Surface computer. It happens when in the desktop mode, using mousepad. (It can turn into a tablet.)

Tested the isuue on windows 10 & 7 using M60 #60.0.3112.90 and canary M62 #62.0.3176.0 and issue is not reproduced.

@MTVTeam-- Could someone from MTV team , please look into this as inhouse doesn't have dell surface computer with mousepad that can be converted to tablet mode.

Thanks!

The page is doing this on purpose. They have a selectionstart, dragstart listeners to prevent users from selecting text.

Behaves the same way on FireFox.
